Qatar Airways announces additional winter services through Doha
September 13 edition · Reporting through September 11, 2026.
Qatar Airways announced winter schedule increases on September 10 for
four destinations frequently used by international travelers: Phuket,
Kuala Lumpur, Ho Chi Minh City, and Zanzibar.
The services are scheduled to begin on two different dates in October
and November 2026.
Announced schedule
| Destination | Announced service | Scheduled start |
|---|---|---|
| Phuket | Increase from 14 to 21 weekly flights | October 25, 2026 |
| Kuala Lumpur | 18 weekly Qatar Airways flights | October 25, 2026 |
| Ho Chi Minh City | Increase from 7 to 11 weekly services | November 7, 2026 |
| Zanzibar | Daily flights resume | October 25, 2026 |
All four routes connect through Qatar Airways’ Doha hub.
What it means for global
nomads
Additional frequencies can provide more choices when planning a
relocation, regional trip, or long-haul connection. More weekly
departures may also make it easier to recover from a missed connection
or choose an itinerary that better matches accommodation and
onward-travel dates.
The announcement does not establish that fares will fall. Ticket
prices depend on demand, booking class, travel date, and other
commercial factors.
What travelers should check
The schedule represents announced future service, not proof that each
frequency is currently operating. Before booking, confirm the operating
date, flight number, connection time, baggage conditions, and entry or
transit requirements that apply to the itinerary.
The airline also highlighted the expansion of its Starlink-equipped
fleet. That does not guarantee Starlink availability on every aircraft
or on any particular flight serving these destinations.
What remains subject to
change
Airlines may revise seasonal schedules before service begins. The
announced frequencies should be checked again on October 25 for Phuket,
Kuala Lumpur, and Zanzibar, and on November 7 for Ho Chi Minh City.
If frequencies change, standing destination pages should reflect the
service actually operating rather than preserving the September
announcement as permanent information.
