Solomon Islands e-Visa: using the official application system

Start a Solomon Islands visa application through the Immigration Division’s official website. Check the visa category first, then use the application link supplied by that site. An online account, a submitted form and a payment receipt are different from an approval.

This guide covers the official online route checked September 17, 2026. Requirements depend on nationality, purpose and category; it does not establish that every traveler needs the same visa.

Choose the applicable category

Read the Immigration Division’s visa overview before creating an application. Match the category to the actual purpose of the visit. Do not assume that a tourist category covers work or residence simply because the application is online.

Check the permitted activities, documents, fees and stay conditions for that category. The government’s launch announcement and current visa overview describe different tourist stay periods. Confirm the period applicable to your case with immigration and rely on the conditions in the actual approval and entry record, rather than a general headline.

Reach the application from the official website

The Division links to its official e-Visa account portal. Its online application instructions explain account creation, email verification, starting an application, checking status and payment.

Use an email address you can access throughout the process. Keep account recovery information secure and retain the application reference. Do not send passport copies or payment details to Global Nomad Center; we do not handle applications.

Follow the current portal prompts

Prepare the documents requested for the selected category. Check that names, passport details, dates and intended activities are consistent before submission. If a field or requirement is unclear, seek clarification from the Immigration Division instead of guessing.

The official instructions describe creating an account, confirming an email, starting a new application and using the applications area to check status. They also describe registering the completed application and paying by the supported card methods. Follow the current portal wording if the interface has changed.

Keep submission, payment and approval separate

Retain the receipt and any decision notice. A charge or receipt establishes that a payment step occurred; it does not by itself establish approval. Check the application’s actual status before treating the process as complete.

If information needs correction or the status is unclear, contact the Division using its published contact details and application reference. Do not create multiple paid applications merely because an email is delayed without first checking the official process.

Check the decision before traveling

Read the approved category, passport details, validity, entries and conditions on the document issued to you. Distinguish the period during which a document can be used from the duration of the stay permitted after entry.

If an itinerary depends on a particular arrival date or length of stay, resolve discrepancies before travel. Keep the approval accessible and follow current carrier and immigration document instructions. No processing-time promise is made here.

Common mistakes

  • Assuming an online visa is a special remote-work status.
  • Choosing a category by convenience rather than actual purpose.
  • Mistaking a receipt for approval.
  • Relying on a general stay-length summary despite different category information.
  • Using a third-party page without checking the official route.

Official help and ongoing review

The Immigration Division publishes immigration.visas@immigration.gov.sb for visa enquiries. Verify contact details on its site before sending personal documents. Recheck the official category and application instructions before each application, especially while implementation guidance is changing.
